You’ve probably, at some point, heard the saying, “Good things come to those who wait.” I suppose that in certain situations this can hold true, but, in everyday life waiting can be detrimental to the motion of life. For example, everyday I think about my future. I think about how soon enough I will need to pick a career, work hard, and pave a new road for my life. I used to fall into the trap of, “I’ll get there when I get there. All I can do now is wait.” Thinking like this is the easier, lazier option. On the other side of the spectrum, however, is the choice to skip the waiting and start doing what you need to do, right now. If you need something, don’t wait for it.

Infuse your life with action. Don’t wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now, right down here on Earth.
— Bradley Whitford

Do everything you can at this exact moment to achieve what you want to achieve, even if you know that your goal may not be accomplished until further down the road. Start your journey now, and eliminate the anxious thoughts that constantly invade your mind. If you have a broken bone, your pain serves as a constant reminder to go to a doctor or to deal with the issue as soon as possible. In the same way, don’t keep holding onto anxiety or doubt, rather, seek out a way to overcome it. Don’t wait for problems to subside. Solve them.

Skip the waiting.

Be impatient.

Get what you need.

Be happy.
