Nobody likes a liar. A chronic liar appears to others as unethical or inauthentic, and can cause stress for all people involved in their life. Most of us don’t lie chronically, but all of us are dishonest at times. Lying is wrong. There really is no other way to put it. Lying is morally wrong. And ignorant. The only way to truly create and maintain a relationship (in any sense), is to have honesty. Avoiding the truth is nothing but a waste of time. Eliminate anxiety from your life by being honest to not only others, but also yourself. Being conscious of yourself is being honest with yourself. Putting off problems by lying and saying they don’t exist will resolve nothing. If anything, dishonesty can lead to further problems down the road.
Honesty is a desirable trait, and is becoming increasingly rare. Focus some of your attention on telling everything as it is rather than covering your mistakes up. Being honest will lead to more fulfilling interactions with others, and can leave a lasting impression of virtue and integrity. Regardless of whether your lying is colossal or white, the reverberations can, and will, be negative to others involved. Hold yourself to higher standards, and pick and choose your actions in a way that benefits everyone.
Have some integrity.
Own up to your mistakes.
