This self portrait was a personal project of mine that was intended to explore and develop my own artistic style. The photo was taken in my make-shift basement studio, using a single speed light for lighting in front of a white background. The lighting is meant to be dramatic, full of contrast and gritty detail. The primary colors used are red, blue, and yellow—a personal favorite palette of mine. The photo was first color corrected in Adobe Lightroom, where it was then sent into Adobe Photoshop for color grading and retouching. Each element of the photo has been altered in some way, lending a somewhat surreal essence to the photo. For the final step, I took three of my original photos and composed them together to create the blue-tinted background that lies behind me.
